Increasing temperatures could cause prolonged blackouts in future

Increasing temperatures across the world will lead to an increasing use of air conditioning systems. Without large scale change and investment in alternative power sources such as solar energy, increased demand on the grid could cause some countries to impose power blackouts during prolonged heatwaves caused by global warming.
