‘MPs are failing to hold electricity giants to account’

We know the electricity sector has a few problems – some requiring more urgent solutions than others. But dont expect the government to sort these anytime soon, states Tom Pullar-Strecker.
Neal Barclay, CE of Meridian, met with the Transport and Infrastructure select committee for an annual review of the company (51% owned by the state). Their performance was unprepared and failed to hold Meridian to account for their UTS they were fined for last year nor the contribution to the current spot-pricing crisis.
A good overview of the problems, their mismanagement and the effect this has on the industry. In an undersupplied market you could conclude that it strengthens the need for companies like ours offering solar solutions that reduce the demand from the grid!
